Desert Game

Performed on June 1, 2018 outside of Marfa, TX

Two teams - Land and Water - fought for survival in this site-specific game-performance that attempted to deal with both the natural and human history of the Chihuahuan Desert. The team captains (“Queens”) received tokens from their players (“Atoms”) that were scattered around the desert. If an Atom was hit by a flying human head thrown by another player, they were immediately deemed “Out.” When the winning team received their final token, both teams participated in a group ritual of the destruction of the plush Sun.
